Can you arrange airport transfers?

- Whilst we don’t have our own personal driver we can put you in contact with a reliable company.

Can you arrange a tuk-tuk to get us around town?

You’ll find that there are literally hundreds of Tuk Tuks around town as well as in close proximity to South House, particularly down by our beach. You are most welcome to talk with them directly about where you wish to go and arrange a fixed price prior to departing on your trip. You can also check with our staff who can arrange one for you.

Do you provide driver accommodation ?

No unfortunately not however there are plenty of inexpensive options in Weligama itself.

How long does it take to get to South House?

From our international airport just outside of Colombo it takes approximately 3hrs; from Colombo around 2 hrs; from Bentota almost 1.5hrs; and from Galle 30-40 mins. There are also train options from Colombo and buses that ply the road between Colombo Galle and Weligama as well as from further south.

Can we store our luggage if we check in early or have a late flight out of the country?

Yes, you may certainly leave your luggage with us until before/after checkin/out. However we ask that you keep your valuables safely locked up in your luggage please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any missing items.

Check-In/Check-out Time - Check-In time shall be after 14:00 hours (local time) and check-out time shall be before 12:00 hours (local time) on the relevant day. Any request for early check-in, or late check-out will be subject to management discretion, which shall be based on our availability on the relevant day.

Check-in Procedure - All guests are kindly requested to provide the passport or relevant identity card on arrival.

Cancellation/No Shows/Early Departures -The full amount is charged for no shows irrespective of length of stay booked. No refund is given for balance days in case of early departures, unless only at sole discretion of management, if canceled room-nights were resold to another guest.

The property will require advance payments at any time depending on the length of the booking, Please note that all advance payments are non-refundable.

Dining at South House is relaxed experience and we are more than happy to undertake special requests for dining, as well as cater to special diets. You will find our simple but tasty dining menu laid out in your in-room literature. To ensure the freshest possible ingredients we ask that you place your lunch orders breakfast and dinner orders at the very latest at lunch. We aim for the freshest possible food

A note on alcohol

Since South House is a private property and is located within a certain distance of a local schools, we don’t have a bar at our premises. However our guests are most welcome to bring their own alcohol with them for consumption on the premises. You can buy alcohol from liquor shops in Weligama, or in Galle, which has a better selection.
